What Guests Are Saying
Ausable River Camping offers a beautiful and serene environment, with spacious, well-maintained sites and picturesque views of the river. It was awesome! We rented site 4D on the Au Sable river and we had a blast. It was spacious and had a nice stairway (3-4 steps) to access the river literally right by your tent. Was far from other campers and you had a lot of privacy. Was able to fish and catch and release a variety of fish (red tail sucker, trout, bass). Was able to swim around and enjoy the waters. There is a little Kayak rental place down the road that had essential camping stuff that is needed for last minute. They have showers and bathrooms there too (might have to pay to use). Also, if you needed more stuff there is a little town about 5 mins away called Glennie. They have gas stations, a grocery store, and a liquor store there. Convenient for us cause we are from the Macomb County area. Was only a 2.5hr drive. We already booked our 2nd and 3rd camping trip here!

The quiet setting is a chance to relax and take in nature. Beautiful sites. We have camped here for years.

I'm afraid to say how good our annual fishing trip is here, I would hate not getting our campsite due to overcrowding. Love this place and hope it stays our tradition.

Beautiful site to be away from the wind of the river. Very hard to access the river as you have to travel down a steep hill and back up (still worth the walk and the fishing).

Beautiful spot right in the cove, right on the river, right in front of the sunset. Winds kick up a bit being so close to the river but the site is massive and there’s plenty of spots to get out of the wind.

One of my favorite sites, very easy walk-to (about 4 minutes). Set on top of the bank with easy river access and a fence for lanterns and drying out towels. The second post from the trail to the water gives you enough service to text and load gps but no phone calls with Verizon. Very cool spot, 64 is next!
