Salthouse Branch Campground is nestled on the shores of Philpott Lake in the rugged foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. The park is located in a rural and sparsely populated part of Franklin County near the small community of Henry. Philpott Lake's clear water and natural shoreline make it a unique place for visitors to enjoy boating, fishing, hiking, picnicking and camping. RV sites 1-18 have little to no shade and are very close together. The dump station is at the top of the hill in the tent area by the bathhouse and hard to get back to the exit as you have to go down to the beach to make a U-turn. There are very steep grades in that area of the campground.
