Questions to ask before choosing campground software
Before choosing a property or reservation system, you should ask each provider the same set of questions:
- Can it handle nightly, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and long-term stays?
- Can guests book online, choose a site, add extras, sign waivers, and where needed pay deposits?
- Does it support RV sites, tent sites, cabins, glamping (dome, yurt) units, storage, day use, or other inventory types?
- How are rates managed by season, day of week, site type, length of stay, and occupancy?
- How does it handle cancellations, refunds, guest credits, and policy rules?
- What integrations are available for accounting, payments, OTAs, websites, POS (Point of Sale), access control, email, SMS, and reporting?
- Does the provider support data migration, staff training, and launch planning?
- What are the full costs, including monthly fees, booking fees, guest fees, payment processing, setup, support, websites, integrations, and add-ons?
- Can the property export its data if it switches systems later?
- What support is available during peak season, weekends, and after hours?
