About Blue Spring

Three new campsites were opened in January 2021 south of the Blue Spring Day Use Area near a slough that connects to the spring and Econfina Creek. The campground entrance via Blue Spring Camp Road is now separate from the day use area entrance (see site diagram). Each of the three campsites at Blue Spring have a picnic pavilion with picnic table, pedestal grill, fire ring, and waste receptacle. A shared portable toilet is centrally located within the campground and there is an access point to Blue Spring Slough, which is adjacent to Campsite 1. Maximum capacity of each campsite is eight people. All campsites require a free reservation. Access is via North Blue Springs road, a graded dirt road, and Blue Spring Camp Road, a gravel road. The Blue Spring Day Use area is a short walk away or can be accessed by water via the slough in a kayak or canoe. Blue Spring, with its clear spring waters and steps leading down to the spring, is a popular day use area that was recently improved and rehabilitated from the severe impacts of Hurricane Michael. Amenities include picnic pavilions, a boardwalk, a viewing deck and a karst feature overlook bridge. Day Use is allowed from 8:00 am to 8:00pm in the day use area without a reservation.

Very beautiful spot to enjoy. We camped 3 nights in site #2. It was peaceful the water was clear and refreshing. The camp sites are fantastic, they have fire pits, grills, covered area with picnic tables and a out-house (porta potty) that is wheelchair accessible.

I recently visited the Blue Springs at 5247-5273 Blue Springs Rd, in Youngstown, FL. This is a nice spring that is down an improved gravel road. It's easy to get to and the area has improvements going on. The spring has a walkway to the water and has a small group of people there. It's worth a stop to go visit.

Great spring area with a cave. Restroom is a porta potty but there's picnic areas. Not too crowded and usually friendly people. Good for snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding. There's also a nature trail. Definitely a beautiful area to explore.

Beautiful cold spring! Saw lots of river life, turtles, fish, large bass and bream in the clear water. They have a very small parking area, a port o John, and steps that lead down into the water. Saw a few people put in here to kayak.

Free swimming in the cold clear water with fish, a great spot for any lover of swimming, fishing, nature, diving, or bird watching.

Getting here you follow a long dirt road but then soon when you turn off for the Springs you'll find picnic tables, and some hiking trails.

We came here on a weekday and had the whole place to just us dogs.
