Hike-in tent-only campsiteHal Scott Regional Preserve and Park's Hike-In Campsite 3 is the most remote backcountry camping experience offered on the property.The trail system at Hal Scott is ideal for hiking, off-road bicycling and horseback riding in the dry seasons -- there are about 17 miles of blazed trails on the property. Trails connect on the northeast with Orange County's Long Branch Park and Pine Lily Preserve.The yellow trail takes visitors to Hike-In Campsite 3, locally nicknamed the Hancock campsite, located about 2 1/2 miles from the parking area on Dallas Boulevard. Visitors will enjoy hiking or biking the trails and crossing the small bridge over the scenic Econlockhatchee River to reach the reservation-only backcountry campsites. This hike-in campsite does not permit motorized vehicle access past the parking area.The campsite has a fire ring with grill, picnic table and benches. There is no water source at this campsite. Reservations are required and may be made up to 90 days in advance but must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
