Heart Island Conservation Area SJRWMD

Drive-in tent-only campsiteHeart Island Conservation Area features more than 5 miles of trails, perfect for hiking, biking or horseback riding. A primitive tent-only campsite is located in a small stand of mature oaks surrounded by pine flatwoods. The Heart Island campsite access is located at 6777 Lake Winona Road, DeLeon Springs. The gate is approximately a mile south of Highway 40 on Lake Winona Road. This drive-in reservation-required campsite is equipped with a fire ring, benches, picnic table and a non-potable water pitcher pump. Only tent camping is allowed. Recreational vehicles (including but not limited to motorhomes, camper vans, truck campers, pop-up campers, or trailers or vehicles with sleeping quarters) are prohibited at the campsite and may not be parked overnight on District lands. Reservations are required and must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Reservations can be made up to 90 days in advance. Vehicle make, model and license plate number are required at the time of booking for all vehicles accessing the campsite.
