We used Camplife.com and reserved site 4 for free. It said sites 1-3 were unavailable but no one showed up to camp during our 3 day stay. The sheriffs office only had one person come out on our first morning after the first night to check our reservation, we didn’t see any other LEOs after that. The first two days (Monday and Tuesday) there were several people using the boat ramp, and one family utilized the picnic table at the beach area for lunch. There were some ATV and dirt bikes that would randomly drive down and turn around, then quite a few random people driving up to turn around and leave. It was mainly between 11-1 that people would come, with a few stragglers after 3-4. The area is quite small so no more than 4-5 people can park with boat trailers before it’s too crowded to move. We saw no one on our third day. There’s not a lot of fallen wood to use for a camp fire but plenty of stuff to kindle one. It’s quiet, it’s peaceful, and it’s beautiful. At night you get the symphony of frogs, crickets, locusts, coyotes and gators. The night sky is clear and you can easily see all the constellations. During the day you can take a dip in the lake or sit under a beautiful moss covered oak tree for shade. As primitive camping goes, this would be a great spot to get away and disconnect. There is no alcohol allowed, but pets are allowed on a leash. There is a very long and bumpy dirt road to reach this campsite.

Love this place. Don't expect electricity or water, but perfect for off grid camping for a few days. It's free, but reservations required. 2 RV spots, and 4 tent sites. Leaving, GPS took is down a long single lane dirt road that dead ended to a swamp. Don't go that way lol!!!

Beautifully secluded area. Pavilion for picnic's, portapottys, Waters clear and clean. There are plenty of places to camp out but this particular location is for day use only.
