Before we approve any self-tow booking, we do need to confirm that your tow vehicle meets the trailer’s safety requirements. The trailer’s GVWR is 4,000 lbs, which means the trailer and everything loaded into it cannot exceed 4,000 lbs. Your tow vehicle must be rated to safely tow that amount. Towing capacity can vary by year, trim, engine, transmission, axle ratio, and factory tow package, so please confirm your vehicle’s towing capacity through your owner’s manual, manufacturer towing guide, or VIN-specific towing information. Your tow vehicle must also have: -A working 7-way trailer connector -A working trailer brake controller capable of operating the trailer’s electric brakes -A tow rating that meets or exceeds the trailer’s 4,000 lb GVWR The 7-way connector allows the trailer’s lights and braking system to connect to your vehicle, but the brake controller is what actually activates and manages the trailer’s electric brakes while towing. For safety reasons, we cannot allow the trailer to be towed without the proper towing capacity, 7-way connector, and brake controller. We provide the hitch setup, including the sway bar connection, as part of the rental. During pickup, we will walk you through the hitch and sway bar setup so everything is connected properly before you depart.
